San Francisco, California RV Travel Ideas
RV Warranties for travelers leaving their hearts in San Francisco
San Francisco is considered by many to be the gem of Northern California with sites to see and attractions for everyone to enjoy. Most RV parks in San Francisco are open year round but offer heavy discounts during the winter months. San Francisco offers everything from water sports to segway and bike tours, so feel free to bring just your spouse or the whole family. If it’s your first time visiting San Francisco, by RV or otherwise, you’ll want to see the most iconic feature of the city: the Golden Gate Bridge. However, let us warn our RV Warranty customers now that the toll for crossing the bridge in your vehicle does go up with the number of axles! The Golden Gate Bridge has been declared one of the wonders of the modern world by the American Society of Civil Engineers and is located by the beautiful natural scenery of Golden Gate Park. Golden Gate Park is a 1,017 acre park that is free to the public and offers a great place to spend a relaxing day among sloping meadows, rose gardens, and lakes.
San Francisco is also famous for its 49 mile scenic drive, which is the perfect attraction for our Auto Warranty customers who don’t mind a little bit of city traffic. This scenic drive is dotted with many of San Francisco’s major destinations, including Chinatown, Twin Peaks, Lake Merced and Fisherman’s Wharf to name a few. Fisherman’s Wharf, also home to the famous Pier 39, is a popular destination for the visitors. Many will tell you that Pier 39 has the best bread bowls and clam chowder on the West coast. The pier is also home to many sea lions, who love to lounge in the sun at the sea lion marina and watch people have a great time at Fisherman’s Wharf.
Another popular destination that is rich with American history can be found on Alcatraz Island. Alcatraz Island was once a federal prison that held many of the nation’s most infamous criminals. The prison has long since closed down but is now open to anybody who may want to go visit. The Island offers guided tours throughout the various facilities on the 22 acre property. Visitors need to take a ferry to get out to Alcatraz island but it is a definite must see for all who are going through San Francisco.
