Alabama was once greatly cherished by the Confederate government as the first Confederate Capitol was located in Montgomery, Alabama. The first Confederate White House was built between 1832 and 1835 and is still available for visitors to come see today! The city of Montgomery has lots of great Confederate buildings to see and admire, but you can’t miss Old Alabama Town while you’re there! Old Alabama Town covers roughly six blocks and is full of old 19th century and early 20th century buildings to tour and admire.
After exploring historic Alabama, be sure to enjoy all the outdoor activities that Alabama offers. There are tons of hiking trails, river trails, golf courses, and scenic drives to explore.
