It’s early February and love is in the air, so it makes sense for RVers to set out for a romantic destination. In our recent blog, How to Plan the Perfect RV Valentine’s Day, we discussed a variety of ways to celebrate the day of love in your RV, and now we want to discuss the best settings for these romantic activities! Here is our list of some of the most romantic cities in the U.S.:
San Antonio, TX
For RVers who are searching for a warmer destination with lots to do, San Antonio is a great spot. The history alone makes for a great trip, with The Alamo and other historic restaurants. An absolute must in San Antonio is enjoying the River Walk, where you can enjoy restaurants, shops, and even take a romantic gondola ride.
New York City, NY
For a nice change of pace from the typical campsite, put on your city shoes and treat your Valentine to a night on the town. The city that never sleeps has much to offer; get your romance on with a carriage ride around Central Park, tour the spectacular Metropolitan Museum of Art, enjoy a Broadway show, or experience the bright lights of Time Square.
Charleston, SC
For some southern charm on Valentine’s Day, head down to Charleston for the perfect couples getaway. The historic port city has gorgeous views and beautiful architecture to admire. The historic attractions like Fort Sumter and the French Quarter are perfect for history buffs, and there is also an array of food and drink to enjoy. Don’t forget to sip some sweet tea with your sweetheart!
San Francisco, CA
There is no doubt that the city by the bay will leave you and your Valentine amazed. The site of the Golden Gate Bridge alone makes the trip more than worth it. You can wander the city and visit Chinatown and Fisherman’s Wharf, take a ferry out to Alcatraz, or drive across the Golden Gate Bridge to experience magnificent redwoods at Muir Woods National Monument.
New Orleans, LA
For a truly authentic experience, go down south and visit the eclectic city of New Orleans. The biggest attraction is of course the French Quarter, where you will find historic spots, mysterious voodoo shops, Cajun cuisine, and even the oldest bar in the U.S. Mosey down famous Bourbon Street and you can enjoy trumpet sounds and entertaining bars. On your way out of the Big Easy, make sure to schedule a swamp tour, where you can ride fan boats and see some native wildlife…hint hint, gators! This is a great spot for adventurous couples looking for an exciting Valentine’s Day getaway!
