What Are the Different Types of RV Warranties?

When it comes to protecting your travel budget with an RV extended warranty, you have options! Just as there are many different types of RVs and folks with different needs, there are different types of warranties to accommodate that. Wholesale Warranties discusses the two main types of RV warranties along with their benefits, such as cost and level of coverage.

Exclusionary RV Warranty

Exclusionary policies offer the highest available level of coverage. These plans explicitly list each exclusion, meaning that all mechanical components are covered except those specifically listed under exclusions. These exclusions include pre-existing conditions, aesthetic features, and routine maintenance. These policies are great for folks who don’t mind paying a little more for better protection.

Comprehensive RV Warranty

A comprehensive extended RV warranty will list everything that is covered under the policy. These policies offer a lower level of coverage but still cover some major components. With Wholesale Warranties, our comprehensive policies still cover some of the most expensive and most common failures. These include the engine, transmission, steering, and breaks. Other major covered components include your air conditioner, fridge, water system, and electrical system.

These plans may be better for those who are more cost-conscious. Although comprehensive contracts don’t cover as many components as an exclusionary policy, these plans are more affordable.

Coach Coverage Only

Wholesale Warranties also offers a Coach Only RV Warranty for motorhomes. This specifically excludes engine and powertrain components. This is a great plan for those whose engine is still covered under a manufacturer warranty or whose mileage may disqualify them from powertrain coverage eligibility. This plan covers various mechanical components, such as slide-outs, leveling jacks, air conditioners, and more.

Powertrain Only Coverage

The opposite of a Coach policy is your Powertrain Only option. Designed to cover the most expensive potential breakdowns, these plans specifically cover your engine, transmission and drive axle components. They are a great, low-cost way to protect yourself from catastrophic repair bills. They’re also a great option for handy travelers who fix many items themselves, but won’t be able to overhaul a diesel engine!

Exclusionary and comprehensive warranties are available for both motorhomes and towable trailers! To learn more about what exactly is or isn’t covered in our warranty plans, fill out the free quote form below.
