Full alignment and front-end work on 1998 Freightliner RV chassis.
I took my wandering 35 ft Allegro Bus pusher in to have them look at its steering/suspension due to excessive slop in steering and “crabbing” as it went down the road (rear wheels tracked to the right of the front wheels). They found a worn drag link, a slightly loose wheel bearing, and need for a full alignment. When the part came in I returned and they spent almost four hours doing the above, including unwelding, moving, and re-welding the entire rear axle which was almost an inch out of line. Improvement in steering precision was dramatic. This is an old-time truck/heavy equipment shop that smacks of a bygone era, located in a slightly seedy part of town, with a fine restaurant/brewpub across the street featuring a fine view across the river of downtown Richmond.
