Inspect and replace brakes and wheel bearings and wheel seals as required. Repack wheel bearings. Perform PDI as requested.
The PDI appeared to have been completed satisfactorily. 6,500 miles after the wheel bearing service complete and total failure of the left front drivers side wheel bearing. This included brake backing plate, brakes, related parts and of course bearings. After replacement parts were installed inspection of the remaining 5 assemblies revealed improper reassembly. The axles are 8,000 lb Dexter ‘easy lube’ requiring a ‘tang’ to be bent to lock the wheel bearing ‘castle’ nut in place. This procedure was overlooked at all wheels.
Communication with Brian Jordan consists of 6 e-mails to him, no returns, and 1 phone call from Brian Jordan in which he revealed the person who performed the work on my Teton was terminated because of my job and other short comings. A discussion ensued regarding the experience I endured and the $814.00 cost to me. Brian apologized and stated he would think on it and get back to me. That was 4 weeks ago. No return response.
