The entry door hinges were loose and the door was difficult to close. They fabricated new upper and lower brackets to mount the hinges.
The work done was excellent. The cost of the repair was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend Felix and Final Touch Coach Works or
return there for any additional services.
Removed separating fiberglass at roof line, replaced, painted, clear coated.
I’d like to take this opportunity to rave about work done to our new-to-us coach. Final Touch Coach Works came in on budget, went above and beyond what they were “required” (as per estimate) to do when opened up, completed a great deal of work within 4 days (they did the fast-track as we were in a hotel) and, at the end, extended their previously stated warranty period “due to the amount of work completed and knowing that the extended steps taken (at no additional charge, I might add) were worth extending from 3 years out to 10”.
More details… We bought the coach with what I thought was minor clear-coat issues on the radius edge of the full fiberglass roof. Turns out, the fiberglass was separating on the radius from the side wall to the roof. Final Touch said we needed to remove the affected areas (the entire length of one side and 10 feet on the other) and replace with new fiberglass, prep, paint, clearcoat. When they had it opened up, they found a piece of metal bent to form the radius was too short at the bottom and the top as it didn’t sufficiently meet and attach. They contacted a metal shop and had 55 feet of metal produced (rolled) to spec and replaced as needed on the coach. Joel at Final Touch told me the original cause of the separation was that the metal was “bouncing” under the fiberglass. By the way… the reason it was only 10 feet worth on the other side is that the remainder was under the awning structure and was, at time of manufacturing, strengthened sufficiently to carry the awning so the same problem did not exist there.
Anyway… metal fabricated and installed, fiberglass installed, prepped, painted and clear coated. The original estimate called for one color paint trying to keep the price down for me (paying out of pocket, not insurance) although the coach is four color variations of black, tope, grey and another grey. The paint patterns were flowing waves (for lack of a better word) that carried up the sidewalls and up over the edge onto the roof. Joel (at the time we were discussing the metal) said that he just couldn’t, in good conscience, do just one color and that he was going to do all four colors to match the original. And at no additional cost. Final Touch just kept surprising me. All too often, these days, we consumers get surprised but it is RARELY in a good direction. Joel and Final Touch are really a class act.
When we were settling up, Joel told me (and wrote it on the receipt) that, due to the extent of work they did and the comfort level he has going forward, he was extending the structural warranty to 10 years (the paint warranty was already lifetime). He explained that the normal 3 year warranty (many shops warrant structural for 1 year) was due to 40 foot of coach flexes some, fiberglass flexes some and there’s just no telling what driving the owner is going to attempt with his coach.
Bottom line: I HIGHLY recommend Final Touch Coach Works in the Santa Clarita Valley (northern Los Angeles County).
