Based upon manufacturer recommendation (08 40′ Diesel Pusher), I had portions of the fiberglass roof radius removed, and replaced with an aluminum radius. This was done to repair fiberglass cracking. It was a warranty repair.
Mechanically, I think the repair is sound. However, the coach is basically black, and the final finish of the radius has globs of white Dicor sealant every 6″ for the 40′ length of the coach. Looks like a gingerbread house. I asked if it could be painted, and was told no. Dicor’s Web site says otherwise; Dicor is paintable. Just lazy?BEAR washed to coach prior to delivery…but used a pressure washer, which flaked paint off the refrigerator roof vent cover.
They also used a brush on the front of the coach, which has Diamond Shield. Scratched and completely hazed, requiring me to polish the entire surface (at my cost and labor). They did not respond to my emails, and the manufacturer talked to BEAR about my concerns, and they still did not contact me. Wouldn’t use them again
