How Does an RV Extended Warranty Claim Work?

One of the most common questions we get at Wholesale Warranties is, how do I make an RV warranty claim? In this blog, we cover the entire claims process for you so that in the event of a breakdown, you can confidently make a claim and make sure you’re covered. We don’t want you to have to pay for repairs out of pocket, especially when you don’t have to! As a reminder, this is the process for policies sold by Wholesale Warranties. If you purchased your coverage elsewhere, please refer to your contract documents for instructions.

When your RV suffers a mechanical failure, typically the first thing you do is bring the vehicle to a licensed repair facility. If you need to find a reputable facility near you, check out our locator at RV Repair Direct. At Wholesale Warranties, this includes facilities in the United States and Canada. Before you approve any repairs, you have to make sure a repair facility representative contacts your policy administrator first to provide them with the diagnosis and repair estimate details.

Pre-Authorization

The administrator will review your policy along with the diagnosis. After this review, your claims specialist will provide a pre-authorization for any covered repairs. This step is crucial. You won’t be able to get your repairs handled then turn in the receipts afterward; you will be required to have pre-authorization before the technicians go to work on your rig. Without pre-authorization, your RV warranty claim will not be covered. As a note, with our policies, 90% of claims are handled and authorized on the first phone call. While this is a required step, it isn’t necessarily difficult or time-consuming.

RV Warranty Claim Deductible

Our policies come with a per-visit deductible. Even if your RV is in the shop for multiple breakdowns, there is still only a single deductible payment required per visit, rather than paying per item

Your RV extended warranty will cover the cost of repair, replacement, and labor for all approved repairs. This is why it is important to take the proper steps during the warranty claims process. You don’t want to spend money on repairs that your warranty would have saved you from paying for! For a free warranty quote, fill out the form below:
