RV Travel in New Orleans

One of the best aspects of the RV lifestyle is mobility, with the freedom to roam wherever you please. But driving from East to West or North to South at your leisure can have its obstacles, with inevitable breakdowns always looming, so luckily the RV Warranty Coverage we offer is available in all 50 states. With access to top-rated RV repair facilities, you can get back to what you love most: the open road.

All of this talk about traveling and peace of mind got us thinking about where we would RV next if we could, and with an exciting holiday on the horizon we couldn’t help but think: New Orleans! We had listed this historic city as a top romantic RV destination in our previous blog, but it seems even more desirable with Mardi Gras coming up. Does the sound of Cajun food, jazz, and southern charm spark your interest? Get planning with our helpful RV travel tips:

Where to Begin

First things first-where to camp? Do some research to find campsites that will fit you and your RV’s needs. Here is a list of reviewed New Orleans campgrounds. Make sure the location is feasible with your plans, and that you have appropriate transportation to the city’s major attractions.

What to do

No matter your interests, there is something for everyone in NOLA. You can enjoy the city’s rich history, entertainment, and good eats for an all-around authentic experience. An absolute must is the French Quarter, where you can admire unique architecture, stroll down Bourbon Street, and visit a bar that was once a pirate hangout. While in the area, visit historic houses and landmarks such as Jackson Square, and take in views of the great Mississippi River. On your way out, schedule a swamp tour to get up close and personal with the local wildlife!

Heading Out

The great thing about New Orleans is its close proximity to other incredible RV destinations. Prior to your trip, figure out where you’re headed next. To the East, you can make Biloxi or Pensacola your next stop, and if headed West, check out Lafayette or venture all the way to Texas to enjoy Houston, San Antonio, or Austin!

We hope this blog gave you some inspiration for your 2015 travels and that the Big Easy treats you well! Have any recommendations for fellow RVers visiting New Orleans? Comment below or post to our Facebook page!
