Employee Spotlight On David Scott, National Sales Director
Each month we’ll sit down with a different member of our Wholesale Warranties crew!
We’ll have to start this month’s Employee Spotlight by explaining the photograph! David recently celebrated a couple of big events in July: a rather important birthday, and his 1 year anniversary with Wholesale Warranties.
Describe your position with WholesaleWarranties.
As the National Sales Director I have the pleasure of overseeing the sales process here at WholesaleWarranties.com. This allows me the opportunity to provide ongoing education to our sales team as well as the customers I have the pleasure of working with. I also work very closely with our Owner and Marketing Director in developing new product and sales opportunities, Dealer and Repair Facility relationships, Trade Show & Rally Appearances and National and offer our products.
Had you ever RVed before joining the WW Team?
Ooooohhhhh, yeah sure you betcha don’tcha know! ( Sorry folks, a little Minnesota slang there!) I was never privileged to actually camp in an RV growing up. We simply threw a sleeping bag in the back of a pick up or pitched a tent and camped the old school way! I went on many fishing trips in my days growing up in Minnesota. Not showering for days on end and bathing in a MN lake made you feel “One with Nature!” (I’m a bit more spoiled now…but my MN roots are still there!)
Have you gotten the opportunity to RV or camp with your family since becoming a WW Team Member?
Just last year our Owner Jeff Shelton and I took my kids to a park up in Newport Beach, CA. We were there to conduct some seminars on RV Extended Warranties. After one of the seminars, we were able to tour the park and I was blown away at the amenities offered. They had a water park, huge arcade, a beach that wouldn’t stop, movies and concerts at night and activities that kept my children busy the entire time! My kids talked both Jeff and I into going out and playing with them in the water park and we had a blast making fools of ourselves with all the kids that were out there. From that day forward, my kids have called him “Uncle Jeff” and not “my daddy’s boss!” Here again, it didn’t seem much like “camping” being in a lush RV right next to the ocean with countless things to do! A far stretch from laying on a sleeping bag in the back of an old beat up pickup!
