RV Snowbird Destination 1: Palm Springs, CA
Now, we’re a little bit biased when it comes to Southern California, but we assure you a trip to Palm Springs can’t be beat. There are a couple of RV park options that will make your trip convenient, and so many fun things to do in the surrounding area. In town you’ll find shopping, restaurants, and a casino. Just outside of town, you’ll find some unique and gorgeous hikes, as well as an aerial tram with unbelievable views. Plus, the average daytime temperature in winter is in the low 70’s, and those desert sunsets alone will make your trip worthwhile.
If you’re planning to stay for a while and need a change of pace after a bit, there are a ton of great things to do within a few hours drive of Palm Springs! From Joshua Tree National Park or the mountain town of Idyllwild, to Los Angeles or our hometown of sunny San Diego, you really can’t go wrong with a winter in Palm Springs.
RV Snowbird Destination 2: Hollywood, FL
Onto Hollywood, but no, not that one! We’re crossing the country to hit up the gorgeous beaches in Hollywood, FL. Host to a plethora of RV parks, Hollywood is the perfect winter destination for beach lovers. Be sure to check out the several miles of boardwalk, and local eateries as well. There is a classic and calm vibe to this beach destination that draws so many visitors each year.
Another great thing about this destination is it’s proximity to other South Florida hotspots. Less than an hour gets you to bigger cities like Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, allowing you to experience the hustle and bustle before heading back to your relaxing RV spot.
RV Snowbird Destination 3: Jekyll Island, GA
Looking to get off the beaten path this winter? We’ve got you covered! This barrier island off the coast of Georgia offers gorgeous, open beaches, unique landscapes, and plenty to do. Thanks to mild winters, you can golf all year around in Jekyll Island. Check out the gorgeous Jekyll Island Campground and snag a spot beneath the Spanish moss.
Birdwatching, horseback riding, biking, fishing, and more will fill your winter days on the island.
RV Snowbird Destination 4: Orange Beach, AL
Coastal Alabama is a great spot to find yourself in the winter. Enjoy mid-60’s temps and less crowds than some of the more popular snowbird destinations. Orange Beach offers a variety of attractions to keep you busy, including a thriving arts scene, gardens, museums, and of course gorgeous beaches. The area boasts plenty of RV resorts, many with amazing waterfront views.
RV Snowbird Destination 5: Lake Havasu City, AZ
Arizona is an RVer fan favorite all year long. With gorgeous deserts and big draws like Sedona and the Grand Canyon, it’s not hard to see why. But our pick for your next snowbird season is Lake Havasu City. Winter on the water…in Arizona! You heard that right, Lake Havasu City is located next to a large reservoir on the California/Arizona border. Relax on the shore or try your hand at freshwater fishing, kayaking, or even paddle boarding. This gorgeous spot draws in a lot of visitors during the winter months, so you’ll find dedicated activities and events all winter long.
